Things to know about the Bijou curtains

Made to filter light in a poetic way. The curtains are designed to create a soft, tactile and calm atmosphere in your space.

All curtains are made in my studio in Bornholm, Denmark. The patchwork style is inspired by the ancient Korean technique known as bojagi. The seams are hidden on both sides, making the curtain look complete on front and back.

Each curtain is unique and the photos are for guidance on what you can expect. It will be designed to fit your measurements, hence the composition will vary a bit.

The Bijou curtain is for smaller windows. It comes with either a string that can be tied to a nail on each side for a casual look, or transparent curtain tape that can be attached to rails and rods.

  • Organic cotton & cotton/silk blend. Handwoven.

Due to the handmade nature of the fabric, colours may vary slightly from the photos.

The colours are made from certified organic dyes, which are not as lightfast as chemical dyes. Furthermore natural materials are more prone to fading than synthetic fabrics. It's the beauty of nature.

Read more about the materials here.

  • If you need help on how to measure, please read this guide.

  • The best look is achieved by steaming the curtains once they are installed. Spot cleaning with a damp cloth and ph-neutral detergent. Gentle dry clean for natural materials is recommended, but hand wash at 30 degrees celsius can be done at your own responsibility.

  • The curtains are made-to-order and production/delivery time is 3-4 weeks.
